Hey beautiful souls!

I wanted to introduce myself, my name is Chantal born and raised in the California's central valley. At the moment I’m currently attending school to become an esthetician and work part time as a server. On my free time I enjoy going to live music events, going on hikes, learning new crafts, and spending time with my friends and loved ones.

One of the reasons I decided to start this journey was a conversation I had with my sister, Morissa. She gave me the idea to start this new craft that I absolute had no idea about, clay earrings. This new path thankfully came a bit easy to me because of my prior years invested into artistic hobbies and work experience. Such as ceramics and cake decorating.

Ceramics was definitely something I enjoyed in high school and college. At the time my art style leaned towards dark and abstract faces. I take pride in being able to find the beauty in the strangest places. Shout out to my ceramics highschool/college teacher Mr.Crimmel and the music that inspired me at the time! (artic monkeys, and yeah yeah yeahs) (take a peak of some of my best work) I learned how to brainstorm my design, build it from base up, add the right textures, choose the perfect color-ways, and glaze my pieces. Seeing the finished product be removed from the kiln always felt so rewarding.

Cake decorating was another skill I picked up at a young age. I had a little business for a few years after high school where I would make cupcakes, cakepops, and fondant cakes. Eventually, I worked at a bakery as a cake decorater for about four years - I decorated roughly 60+ cakes a day! (No joke) Creating detailed decorations with piping bag and airbrush machine helped me develop a steady hand. Furthermore, my experience working with fondant taught me about color mixing, minimizing air bubbles, and the process of rolling out materials into an even thickness. Fondant has a similar consistency to clay but the great thing is that you could eat it!

However, after a few years I felt I mastered cake decorating and needed a new challenge in life. And now three years later Chantal Clays was born with one brand name change to Chantal Crea Studio. Not only do I still create clay pieces I spontaneously invested in a Glowforge (laser machine) beginning of 2022 & introduced acrylic pieces to the shop. I have also done my research to find great quality gold and silver supplier. I’m very proud of taking these risk and seeing what I have accomplished in the past years. Knowing I can make art that can last forever, be seen by everyone and make someone feel beautiful is what makes me strive to create more unique pieces for everyone enjoy! Thank you for supporting and being apart of my journey in the art and business world. Much love xx Chantal G.
